The aims of the research was to determine the occurrence of indigenous yeasts isolated from napa cabbage (Brassica rapa subsp. pekinensis) wastes potentially in produced cellulase enzyme. Indigenous yeast isolated from 1 g napa cabbage wastes with using modified Potato Dextrose Agar / PDA (Oxoid Ltd.) with the addition of 3% Yeasts Extract / YE (Kraft Foods) and 10 ppm amoxicillin. The identification of yeasts performed under microscope for size and shape then tested with Rapid Yeasts Plus System. Cellulase enzyme production was done with the addition of 2% indigenous yeasts into the substrates in the ratio of napa cabbage and water 1:15 with basal medium contains 0.05% KH2PO4 and 0.025% Mg2SO4 then incubated for 96 hours at 37ºC (modification of Gupta, et al., 2012). Every 24 hours, 1.5 ml of fermented substrates were centrifuged and the supernatant was taken as crude enzyme. The cellulose enzyme activity determined by measuring the glucose resulted using the DNS method, then tested spectroscopically using UV-Vis 9200 spectrophotometer at 540 nm. Results showed that there are 3 indigenous yeasts isolates that 2 of the isolates identified as Candida krusei and one isolate identified as Hanseniaspora guilliermondii. The cellulase enzyme activity increased in the first 24 hours then decreases until 96 hours. The best isolates activity shown by C.krusei A that resulting glucose contents of 15.9 ppm with the enzyme activity of 0.007U/ml.

In the last decade today’s world has been affected by frauds and manipulation of the financial information. An investment decision based on false financial information causes the investors to suffer losses as was experienced in Enron and WorldCom cases. For this reason financial information manipulation is as important as other types of manipulations and must be prevented so that the investors make a rational decision. Financial information has, certainly, an important positive or negative effect in economic decisions. Positive or negative effects of financial information on economic decisions depend on reliability of the financial information.

The paper Farm incomes in Poland vary substantially, which is entirely confirmed by the results of agricultural accounting in Polish FADN. The income is influenced by a range of factors of which the most important are natural conditions, the farm production potential, production intensity as well as subsidies under the Common Agricultural Policy. The increase in potato production on the European market has caused a low price level. In some countries the decline in prices was even 15% in 2010. The decline in prices led to the decline in profitability of potato production because low prices obtained by producers entailed higher costs of potato production. This work shows research results from years 2011-2013. The aim of the research was to compare the profitability of edible potato production on an individual farm in the Lódz Province in the early and late harvesting of the analysed years. The data needed to estimate the profitability were obtained based on the data included in the report which an individual farm runs in order to determine the profitability of the application of new cultivation technique or new varieties. Based on the obtained data, direct and indirect costs as well as profit were calculated. The profitability estimated on the basis of the data collected from the farmer was compared to the profitability which would be achieved by the farmer on the basis of the percentage of direct and indirect costs provided by the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics. The profitability calculated on the basis of indicators of the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics was lower than the profitability estimated on the basis of the data obtained from the analysis of the farm financial report.

The cost competitiveness is a key topic in agriculture. Knowledge about costs at microeconomic level is a useful instrument for the orientation of producers, as well as for decision makers at aggregate levels. The paper focuses on the empirical analysis of production costs for field crops in Romania, using the methodology and data of the EU Farm Accountancy Data Network. The analysis takes into consideration the economic size of farms and is mostly relevant in the case of specialized farms. The cost structure reveals differences when comparing small with large farms and it provides a benchmark to individual farms when they need to know their position within their size class.

The objective of the article is to indicate the differences between labour productivity in the Polish agriculture and the EU countries, with special emphasis on the largest producers of food. The article makes use of the data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS) and Eurostat. The difference between the labour productivity in the Polish agriculture and in leading European farms is very significant (German, British or French productivity is 6-7 times higher). The limited growth of labour productivity in agriculture results from endogenous and from exogenous factors.

The main aim of the article was to characterise the issue of professional and social activation of rural population in Poland from two crucial perspectives: of the structure of employment activities of rural population and of the set of legal measures designed to implement and assure desired levels of working activity of domestic rural population. The structural study focuses mainly on such aspects as a number of employed persons in agriculture, hunting and forestry with an indication of such issues as employment in crop and animal production and hunting, employment in agriculture, different status of employees or total number of registered unemployed persons living in rural area. In terms of structural aspects, it should be firstly noted that statistical data clearly shows that employment in agriculture in private farms is the most common form of employment of rural population. It should be also highlighted that the employer or own-account worker on private farm were the most common employment status for rural population in Poland. In terms of legal aspects, the study mainly focuses on analysis of complex legal provisions of both community and domestic law. The Regulation (EU) No 1305/2013 defines basic and fundamental principles of the Common Agriculture Policy related to the issue of professional and social activation of rural population, while domestic acts intend to define legal frameworks customised to Polish realities.

Degradation of arable lands makes ecological and social-economic threats for sustainable development of rural territories in Ukraine. The most spread kinds of degradation of arable lands are water and wind erosion of soils. To solve the problems of land and soil degradation, the national ecological policy expects reduction of the area of degraded arable lands by conservation and improvement of the directions of economic activity on rural area. The present research gives argumentation of such alternative directions of employment of degraded arable lands as growing of energy willow and hazelnut, sowing of perennial herbs for production of forage and honey. Evaluation of the projects efficiency is made according such criteria as net present value, profitability index and payback period. Calculations prove reasonability of investments into alternative employment of degraded arable lands. Ecological benefits of the projects implementation include anchoring of the soil top layer with root systems of plants on erosion-dangerous land parcels; enrichment of soil cover layer with nutrients under perennial herbs; raise of biological diversity of the territory. To improve the directions of economic activity on rural area it is recommended to introduce grant-project form of development of territorial communities.
