The study pays attention on both the concept of sustainable development and the concept of transdisciplinarity. We analyze the impact over the quality of life in rural areas in today’s Knowledge Society via SDG 4: Quality Education. The study clarifies the concept of transdisciplinarity, through concepts easier to understand such as: disciplinarity, multidisciplinarity and interdisciplinarity, from the very author of the concept, Basarab Nicolescu. It also clarifies the concept of Knowledgde Society and its demands, focusing the analysis on the general impact of Knowledge Society on sustainable development with references on the quality of life and along with SDGs perspective.
