In this paper I present the species Morrimus funereus Mulsant, 1862 (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) which was reported in 2015 in the oak forest Dumbrava Sibiului. The samples were collected using soil traps mounted inside the forest. The material was added to the entomological collections along with other species of beetles caught in 2015. Studies on species of beetles were conducted by the author over several years, and this study complements the list of species caught in this ecosystem.

The success of the amelioration experiments is closely connected to the coefficient of variation found at the genetic material level. The working collections of the amelioration programs don’t intend to conserve the whole existent diversity at the level of a species, just to a useful portion of it, adapted to the specific ecological zones to each amelioration program. In this idea, the assessment of diversity and genetic stability of the genotypes with different provenances is an important step into the breeding experiments. To obtain some information regarding the coefficient of variation and stability of some qualitative parameters of spring barley namely protein content, starch and TKW, they were analyzed 185 genotypes from the breed assortment of spring barley from ARDS Turda in two years of cultivation.

The study investigated the relationship between capital flight and poverty in Nigeria. The time series data spanning from 1986 to 2014 was analyzed using Johansen co-integration test and error correction model. The Johansen co-integration results revealed that a long run equilibrium relationship exist between capital flight and poverty (proxied by discomfort index) in Nigeria. Similarly, the error correction term showed that the present value of discomfort index (a proxy for poverty) adjusted rapidly to changes in capital flight, real exchange rate, real gross domestic product growth rate and adult literacy rate by approximately 66.82 percent in the long run. On the other hand, capital flight had a positive relationship with discomfort index (a proxy for poverty). Similarly, real gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate and adult literacy rate related positively with discomfort index. Among other things, it was recommended inter alia that government should lift the stringent penalties due to money launderers in order to encourage repatriation of their investments, coupled with strict policies aimed at preventing and checking further siphoning of national wealth.

The main objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between forestry students’ multiple intelligences and their educational achievements (passing the exams). Thirty four-year students form Forestry Specialization within Faculty of Agriculture from Bucharest participated in this research. The Multiple Intelligence Inventory proposed by Walter McKenzie in 1999 was used. The data set was analyzed through descriptive statistics. Moreover, correlations between the marks obtained by the students and their dominant intelligences types were done. The study provided preliminary and usefulness results which should be taken into consideration in teaching and learning activities, both by the teaching staff and the students.

The paper aimed to present the role and impact of International Fund for Agriculture on the development of the rural areas of the Republic of Moldova. Till the present the rural development are on the law level. The farmers were facing significant problems in running the business and a lot of poor people still lived in rural areas. These people could potentially be employed only in Agriculture as other economic activities are less developed in the rural areas. The Rural Financial Services and Agribusiness Development Project (RFSADP) is the fifth International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) program in Moldova and became effective on July 4, 2011. The implementation of the RFSADP was divided into four main components, to address various issues identified for reducing the poverty in rural areas. Each component and subcomponent describes a certain approach to improve business development in rural areas, with focus on agriculture and to improve the quality of lives for the people in rural areas. International Fund for Agriculture Development provided funding, consultancy and organized a set of activities to target poor people in rural areas to improve their living, to increase their knowledge about the most recent technologies in agriculture and to provide practical information about how to run their business and increase output.

The research has shown that activated carbon can increase the production of biogas and methane from anaerobic digestion, thereby reducing the startup time. Activated carbon has raised the possibility of microbial resistance to the organic load. A more developed structure of mesoporous the activated carbon was favorable for the colonization of specific bacteria, which leads to increased syntrophic associations between bacteria and methane producers. Thus, the anaerobic reactor complemented with activated carbon would be economically efficient for the production of biogas.

Bulgaria has all the necessary resources for the development of specialized types of tourism. There are also sea and mountain tourism, there are opportunities for development of rural, spa, cultural, culinary, wine tourism and others. In this connection, the country is divided into several tourist areas, each of which has a certain tourist specialization. The attention is directed to the tourist region of Rhodope, with specialization in rural tourism. The main purpose is to analyze the organization's management of the region as a destination and to explore the opportunities for developing sustainable rural tourism and its popularization at both national and international level.

In the article are exposed the results of the study of biochemical quality of biocopmpost obtained by using the effective microorganisms from microbial preparations „Baikal ЭМ-1” and „EM-1”, in the process of bioconversion of the organic wastes unfermented. Material for research served unfermented cattle manure and the object of investigation - two preparations of efficient microorganisms „Baikal ЭМ-1” and „EМ-1”. Analyzing the results obtained in the experiment it was found that in biocompost obtained from the unfermented manure of cattle, subjected to the bioconversion process using preparations „Baikal ЭМ-1” and „EM-1” diminished essentially the content of ammonia, respectively with 79.68% - 70.91% and 85.09% - 70,03%, and increased the total nitrogen, respectively with 147.33% - 105.33% and 162.67% - 128.00% in comparison with the same indicators in manure samples at the initial stage. Consequently, it has been found that use „Baikal ЭМ-1” and „EM-1” preparations has led to substantial changes in content ammonia and total nitrogen, thus improving the quality of the biocompost.

The aim of the paper is to highlight, from the point of view of the specialized literature, the role of the Romanian rural household in rural economy, while taking into consideration the opportunities and constraints of the new rural development paradigm. The basic activity of the Romanian rural household is agriculture, with subsistence as main characteristic; yet it should not be neglected that agriculture must ensure food security, ensure the rural population’s stability through job opportunities and decent incomes, contribute to environment protection, hence the need to increase the competitiveness and efficiency of farming activities on the subsistence household farm. The rural household (which partially overlaps with the small peasant farm) has a recognized role in maintaining the rural settlements, being responsible for the preservation of natural, social and cultural resources. The present generation of farmers, according to the European Commission, has the multiple role of farmer, custodian of rural areas and entrepreneur.

In the period 2003-2017, Romania became an important export source of live sheep and goats, both for the intra-Community trade and for third countries in particular. From food security perspective, for Romania, sheep and goat meat (accounting for 3.5% of total meat consumption in the year 2016) has a particular importance both for dietary diversification and for the complex contribution to putting into value the country’s agricultural resources, the sheep species having the exceptional capacity to valorize the land from the areas with natural handicaps (80% of these areas are valorized by the ovine species). Although Romania ranks 6th in EU-28 in terms of total sheep and goat herds, it ranks 10th in terms of meat production (in carcass equivalent), yet on the rise compared to the pre-accession period. Considering that self-sufficiency in sheep and goat meat on the EU-28 market is only 88% and demand is increasingly higher on the markets from Asia, South America and Middle East, Romania must capitalize on these opportunities and develop its sheep and goat sector on the long term. The growth of middle-income population from Asia, Latin America and Middle East and the increasing demand of ovine meat implicitly represent an export opportunity that Romania has to valorize, also having in view that Romania, as supplier of live animals, is also appreciated for raising animals under extensive grazing system.
